TVMC (TV Media Center) is a android-minded fork of Kodi, by the Kodi fans, TVBOXNews Team.
Here’s how to use TVMC to watch free TV, movies, live sports, and more — plus a basic intro to what TVMC is and what you should know before you use it.
What Is TVMC?
TVMC (TV Media Center) is a software application, or app, that functions as a media player. It’s free to download and use. TVMC is designed to organize and play all kinds of digital media. You can watch TV shows, movies, live sports, live TV, and other content — plus listen to music and manage your photos. Here, we’ll be covering how to use TVMC to watch TV, sports, and movies.
TVMC is free to download and use, with no limits or restrictions.
You can use TVMC on a PC, Mac, iOS device, Android device, Amazon Fire TV, Raspberry Pi, and others.
TVMC doesn’t come with any content on it. You can put your own content into your TVMC media library, including videos, music, and pictures. You can also use TVMC to stream content from the internet — and this is what you’ll mostly be interested in.
To stream shows, movies, and sports on TVMC, you install Kodi add-ons, which are like the apps on your phone. There is a massive library of Kodi add-ons and plugins you can install — almost all of which are free. You can watch just about any TV show, movie, and live sports event on TVMC with the right add-ons.
Kodi add-ons are divided into two categories: official and unofficial. You can download the official add-ons from the official website.
But it’s the other add-ons, the unofficial ones, that are the most popular. Why? Because these are the add-ons that will let you watch all kinds of copyrighted content for free. There are third-party Kodi add-ons to watch: Netflix, Hulu, HBO, ESPN, BBC, Amazon Prime Video, and many, many more — all for free.
Is this legal? Yes… kind of. But it’s also kind of not legal. It’s complicated. In short, it’s a definite gray area. But one thing that’s certain is that streaming free TV and movies on TVMC comes with risk.
One, hackers love to target TVMC users. Two, copyright holders (like Netflix) and Internet Service Providers (who are loyal to copyright holders) really hate it when people watch their stuff without paying and want to stop/punish those who do. It’s understandable. It’s not very cool — but it’s understandable.
So it is highly recommended you take steps to stay safe on TVMC. The best way is to use a VPN with TVMC. A VPN will prevent you from getting hacked or tracked you while you watch all that awesome free stuff. It will keep your identity hidden, and secure your connection, so nobody can see who you are or what you’re doing.
It’s really easy to set up a VPN with TVMC (done in about 5 minutes). So do that first, if you haven’t already. Then come back here and get started using TVMC safely to watch free Netflix, Hulu, Showtime, HBO, live sports, and more. Let’s get to it!
TVMC Quick-Start Guide
How To Install TVMC
First things first — get TVMC installed on whatever device you want to use it on (computer, mobile, gaming system, etc.). Is TVMC safe to download? Yes. As long as you get TVMC from the official source, it is completely safe.
Go to TVMC’s official website, and download the TVMC application for your device(s). Then follow the instructions to install it on your Mac or Windows computer, Android or iOS device, etc.
How To Install Kodi Add-Ons — AKA, How To Use TVMC To Watch Free TV, Movies, And Sports
Once you have TVMC on your device, it’s time to install Kodi add-ons to start streaming shows, sports, and other content from the internet. This where things really get interesting with TVMC. There are literally hundreds of add-ons you can use to watch all kinds of great stuff.
Kodi add-ons are what make the platform so popular and powerful. For some of the top add-ons for TV, sports, and movies, see our list of the best Kodi add-ons in 2017.
Unfortunately, many of the most popular sources for TV and movies on TVMC are restricted based on what country you’re in (like Netflix, BBC, ITV, Sky Sports, ESPN, HBO, and many more). The good news is that it’s easy to unblock Kodi add-ons and get access to every geo-restricted content source, no matter where you are.
Get Kodi Add-ons For TV, Movies, And Sports
There are a few different ways to install Kodi add-ons for watching content from the internet.
METHOD 1: From the main carousel, click Video, then select Video Add-Ons and Get More. From here you can browse and select.
METHOD 2: Another way is to go to System>Add-Ons>Install from repository / Install from zip file / Search. After you find an add-on you want, just click on it and hit Install. You’ll then be able to access all the content that add-on streams your way.
METHOD 3: An easy way for beginners to get started is to install a bunch of the best Kodi add-ons all at once. A good source for this is SuperRepo. SuperRepo is a big collection of popular Kodi add-ons that will let you watch just about everything you desire. SuperRepo, and all the add-ons, are free. Note that some of them are unofficial add-ons. So if you’d rather stick to the official library, do not get SuperRepo.
Here’s how to install SuperRepo:
1. Watch the video below, or to https://superrepo.org/get-started/ and follow the written tutorial. It’s very good and will walk you through the entire process.
2. Once you have SuperRepo installed, it’s time to open up some add-ons so you can start watching free shows and movies. I’ll walk you through how to open one, the Exodus add-on, which is very popular for watching free TV. To open Exodus, from the TVMC home screen, go to System > Settings. Click on Add-ons, and choose Install from repository. Select SuperRepo, then go to Video Add-ons. Choose Exodus from the list.
An important cautionary note — some Kodi add-ons are legally sketchy, and may put users at risk. In fact, many of the all-time most popular add-ons fall in this category. That’s because these are the ones that let you watch tons of TV episodes, live sports, and hit movies for free when we all know you’re supposed to pay for this content.
We must offer the obligatory “only use sanctioned Kodi add-ons!” advice. But since all that free TV is just too cool, here’s the next best thing — protect your privacy and security on TVMC. Illegal streaming of copyrighted content is not something the feds, or the copyright holders, take lightly. And you just never know how safe these third-party add-ons really are.
How To Use TVMC To Watch Live TV
The process here is the same as outlined above. You just need to install Kodi add-ons for watching live TV.
From the TVMC home screen, go to System>Add-Ons>Install from repository / Install from zip file / Search and look for live TV extensions to install.
If you installed SuperRepo, as outlined above, you can also look in your SuperRepo library for live TV add-ons like SportsDevil, for watching live sports events.
There are tons of free live TV and live sports add-ons — but again, be aware of those that are giving away paid content for free and use a VPN for protection if you use these add-ons.
How To Use TVMC To Watch Netflix, Amazon Video, And Hulu
You can easily use TVMC to stream Netflix, Amazon Video, and Hulu. All you need to do is install the add-ons for each service.
To watch Netflix on TVMC, use the Flix2Kodi add-on or NetfliXBMC. To watch Hulu on TVMC, use the Hulu Plus or Hulubox add-ons. To watch Amazon Video on TVMC, use the Amazon Prime Instant Video add-on. All of these add-ons are included in the SuperRepo library, or you can install them individually.
If you want to watch free Netflix (Blackmarket Netflix) on TVMC, or free Hulu or Amazon Prime Video, make sure you use a VPN.
How To Install Individual Add-Ons On TVMC: Phoenix, Exodus, IceFilms & More
As stated above, installing the whole SuperRepo collection is the easiest route for TVMC beginners.
But you might also want to install add-ons individually, so we’ll walk through exactly how to do it. Just about every TVMC user out there will name Phoenix as a must-have add-on. No doubt, Phoenix is at the top of the all-time best Kodi add-ons in existence.
Phoenix will give you easy access to countless hours of popular TV shows, just-released movies, and lots more, all for free. Which means — don’t take this lightly! — we strongly recommend getting a VPN for protection before installing Phoenix.
That out of the way, here’s how to install Phoenix on TVMC.
First, go to System>Settings>Add-ons. Click “Add source.” Enter the URL http://fusion.tvaddons.ag and name it Phoenix or something else that makes sense to you.
Go back to System>Add-Ons and select “Install from zip file.” Find the file you just added and named, and then select “xbmc-repos.” Click on the “Eenglish” file and then select “repository.xbmchub-x.x.x.zip.”
Once you see the notice “Add-on enabled,” choose Install from repository>TVADDONS.ag Add-on Repository>Video Add-ons>Phoenix. With your VPN turned on, hit Install.
To get any other Kodi add-ons, just use the same process, only choose a different repository or source.
To find the Phoenix add-on, or any others you install, go back to System>Settings>Add-ons and look for the one you’re after.
How To Use TVMC To Watch Videos In Your Media Library
After you install TVMC, you’ll see the home menu pop up. From the carousel, click on “Video,” then choose “Files” to watch stuff stored on your computer or device. You can use TVMC’s search feature to find the videos you want to watch.
Use these same basic steps to listen to music or look at photos with TVMC. It’s a very intuitive platform and will probably feel like an old friend within minutes.
How To Watch Content On Your TV Set With TVMC
You’d probably rather not watch shows and movies and etc. on your device’s cramped little screen. How do you get all that great content onto your nice big-screen TV?
One of the options is to use Chromecast, Google’s media streaming device. All you have to do is launch the Chromecast app, open TVMC, and then use the cast option to send whatever you want to watch to your TV set.
TVMC also works on Android TV, and other devices like Xbox One and Raspberry Pi which can stream content onto a TV, but it can get a bit technical — too complicated for this simple intro guide. The Price Gap is Big! Compare before buying: GearBest, GeekMaxi, FocalPrice, TomTop, and Banggood.
